What we collect and why
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your name and email address | To take your order, send your upload link and drawings, and answer your questions |
| Your phone number, if you give it | To reach you about your order |
| The property address and postcode | To identify the house and prepare your location and block plans |
| Photos of the property, inside and out, and any floorplan you send | To draw your house as it is now and as it will be |
| Your measurements | To draw your house to scale |
| Your brief, notes and messages | To draw what you want to build and to make the changes you or the council ask for |
| Order and payment records: what you ordered, the price and when you paid | To supply your order and keep our records |
| If you came from an ad: the ad click reference and campaign tags in the web address, and the first page of ours you visited | To know which of our ads lead to orders, so we can spend on the ones that work |
We don't store the ad click reference or campaign tags on your device. They're carried in the links between our pages and saved with your order only if you place one.
We use your photos only to draw your plans. We don't see your card details: you enter them on Stripe's payment page.
Our lawful basis
We use your data because we need it to perform our contract with you, or to take the steps you ask for before you order. If you don't give us this information, we can't draw your plans. Lawful basis for keeping the ad click reference and campaign tags with an order: suggested, our legitimate interest in knowing which ads work If you accept analytics and advertising cookies, we rely on your consent for them, and you can withdraw it at any time. Any further lawful basis, such as a legal obligation to keep tax records
Who handles your data
- Stripe processes your payment. It receives your email address and order reference from us, and your card details from you. If you came from an ad, it also receives the ad click reference and campaign tags with your order.
- Our email provider, provider name, carries the emails we send you, which include your name, order details and postcode.
- Google Fonts supplies the fonts on our pages, so your browser shares your IP address with Google when a page loads. See our cookie notice.
Analytics and advertising: only when switched on, and only if you accept
This section applies only when we've switched these tools on. You'll know, because a banner on our website asks you to accept or reject them. While they're switched off, or if you reject them, none of them loads and nothing is sent to these companies.
If you accept, the tools we've switched on receive your IP address, the pages you visit, details of your browser and device, the ad you came from and, when you pay for an order, its order reference and value:
- Google, for Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion tracking
- Meta, for the Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram ads)
- Microsoft, for Microsoft Advertising (Bing ads)
They use it to tell us which ads lead to visits and orders, and, for advertising, to show our ads to people who have visited our website. Each also uses it under its own privacy policy. Our cookie notice lists what each tool sets, and how to change your choice.
You submit your application yourself, so what you send to the council or the Planning Portal is handled under their own privacy notices. Council planning registers are public.
Transfers of your data outside the UK: whether any apply, where to, and the safeguards used
How long we keep it
Suggested: order records for 6 years; photos for 12 months after your application is decided.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of your data
- correct anything that's wrong
- delete your data
- limit how we use your data, or stop using it
- send the data you gave us to you or another organisation, in a format a computer can read
Some of these rights have limits, for example where we must keep a record. To use them, email [email protected].
Complaints
Please tell us first if you're unhappy with how we've used your data. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
